Artfight Page Information
Personality:
Pineveil is a gleeful sadist. He's seemingly light-hearted and open in a mischievous way, likes to tease and taunt, and makes no secret of his love for cruelty. He laughs retelling his crimes! Though he wouldn't hurt his allies, his attitude doesn't make that clear - which has made many of them wary of and uncomfortable with him. He gets surprised and defensive when someone calls him untrustworthy.
Despite this he can be very coy, and lies very easily if he knows his conversation partner would disapprove of whatever he's done. The less detail he provices, the more likely it is he's done something he shouldn't.
Lore:
Pineveil was built during the war to be a disposable asset, expected to die fighting just to soften the Autobot forces up for the Decepticons ... but in the chaos of battle, after being injured, he instead hid. His spark glitched, hiding his spark signature so that the Autobots overlooked him, and he remained still - frozen with fear - until the battle ended in a Decepticon victory. Still, Pineveil feared being sent into similar battles until one
would kill him, and as such searched for ways to make himself less disposable. He tried several things until he found a knack for locating others' weak points, which he leaned into whole-heartedly, allowing it to shape his personality and becoming a sadist.
Using this ability he successfully avoided his original purpose, so now he's just a regular - if low-ranked - Seeker, doing whatever tasks and guard duties are expected of him.
Abilities/weaknesses:
He has the usual Seeker moves and arm blasters, but his alt mode's aerial balance is a bit off due to his wing being repaired wrong. He likes getting up close and personal if he's outclassing his enemy.
He has a distinct affinity for picking up on someone's physical or mental weak points and will target them whenever he can. He could use this ability to help allies but that has honestly not occured to him.
His spark has a kind of glitch, so his spark signature sometimes wavers and he's learned how to change it for short periods. In other words, he's capable of mimicking other bots' signatures or hiding his own, though he can't do it very long without hurting himself. He uses this almost exclusively for ambush purposes - but if he is too afraid or stressed, it'll trigger on its own outside of his control.
While he tries not to show it, Pineveil has weak points of his own. He's terrified of dying and dreads the idea of losing his voice... But more than anything he hates being powerless, as it brings him back to his first battle and can force him back into that mindset, so if trapped he will fight back desperately just to prove he can do SOMETHING.
Other notes:
Raccoon gremlin vibes. SUCH huge raccoon gremlin vibes.
All he truly wants is to be valuable enough to be allowed to stay alive. As long as he's not cannon fodder, he's happy.
When very stressed or uncomfortable, he runs a claw along/through his wrist seam, as though checking his own pulse - subconsciously keeping tabs on if his spark signature acts up.
At some point he got banned from the medbay, so when his wing was broken, he repaired it by himself and proceeded to permanently mess it up. Fixing it now requires re-making a good chunk of his wing, which isn't considered worth it even by him.
While he does fight and kill normally in battle, he doesn't tend to kill those he torments, as he wants them to remember and fear him.
He's the one who shot Windframe down on that one mission. Luckily, he wasn't able to follow up on it, since his squad was busy fighting Windframe's allies at the time.
He very badly wants to stay alive. No matter what's going on he prioritizes his own safety, quick to flee if the odds are too poor, and he fears any bot his skills won't work on (for example Megatron or Shockwave). Paradoxically, this means he may lie to Megatron to avoid catching his ire, making matters worse for himself.
Weirdly, he seems to enjoy painting! Specifically with his hands and fingers. He enjoys the motions more than the art itself, so he's a pretty poor artist but doesn't mind. There is some discussion about how and when he found this interest, but most agree his first 'paint' was probably some poor guy's energon.
