Mio is a fruit farmer! She grows and stockpiles fruit and vegetables for winter, helping make sure there's enough food for everyone in the area to survive.
Mio has a heart of gold but also a strong sense of justice, determined to set things right when they go wrong. She lives by herself on her fruit-and-vegetable farm, and enjoys the manual labor and dirty work. In contrast, she feels awkward and out of her element in more formal situations or fancy dress.

While she's usually alone, her neighbor's son Ark likes to visit the farm, helping out in little ways or just spending time with her.
Mio is mute - while she can make sounds, she's unable to form words. She can communicate through writing, but Ark knows her well enough to understand what she means without words and can translate for her.
Her favorite treat is strawberries! She has some trouble growing them herself, though.
