Personality:
A magic creation based on Flowey's emotions, Shifter is ... to be frank ... a brat. He's impulsive, over-emotional and selfish, often getting in arguments with people that try to boss him around. Which happens to be half of his audience. Still, he is young and naive, instinctively taking what others say as truth unless he has a reason to doubt them. He's a quick learner skill-wise, but is still learning about the complexities of the world and how things work, getting lost and confused when things contradict his previous experiences.

He loves calm music and all kinds of sweet treats - though he is gluttonous and tends to over-eat if given the chance. He likes dogs more than cats. He holds grudges and hates liars, even though he himself lies all the time; because people have used lies to hurt him, he thinks of all liars as potential dangers.

Lore:
Shifter was made by anon magic alongside his brother, Pointy, in an event called Triple Flowey. Made from Flowey's emotions and world view, Shifter thought the world was a game, killing monsters and trying to murder Flowey for stopping him. This caused most askers to turn on him - and by the time he found out the truth, people had done so much to hurt him that he was driven to near madness. As the event ended he killed Pointy in a fit of jealousy and rage, before melting and being reabsorbed into Flowey.

Thanks to compability issues he survived inside of Flowey’s mind, trapped and unable to move, where the askers eventually located him. Finding him scared and helpless, many decided to forgive him and aid him in any way they could. Flowey found out that people would enter his mind to interact with Shifter, however, and set an example by gouging out the right side of Shifter’s face and tearing off his rightmost petal. Shifter also started losing his mind due to hateful askers, and hallucinated Pointy talking to and harassing him for his actions.

Akim and Ebott, his two closest friends, managed to get him out of Flowey’s mind and have since then adopted him, trying to help him live a peaceful life away from more pain and misery. Unfortunately, his past sins (and refusal to listen) make that difficult to achieve... But maybe, after bringing Pointy back to life, Shifter will finally be given the mercy he desperately needs.

Physical notes:
Shifter's neck is badly miscolored and scarred, due to a collar having dug into it for far too long.
If injured, he bleeds a black, tar-like substance! It evaporates after a little bit. In truth, he is fully made of this black tar - if he starts to melt, that is what he melts into. That's also why the wounds in his head look like that.
While he can change his face, the injury to his head means he can't change its shape the way Flowey can. He tends to instinctively change his eye depending on circumstance without really realizing it.
His eye color can reflect things too! A red eye indicates honesty and vulnerability, while a yellow eye indicates purity. Missing his pupil means something is extremely wrong.
His petals are soft and kinda pillowy, like those of a plush toy.
When talking to someone he doesn't trust, he often keeps his head turned to the side so they can't get a proper look at his injured side.

Other notes:
He has a pet puppy named Rocky Road! Rocky Road adores him and is very protective, serving as an important grounding presence and emotional support animal for Shifter.
Shifter is heavily traumatized and hates the snow and dark. Too many bad things happened in such areas so he can't help but correlate them with suffering.
Similarly, he's uneasy with silence or being alone, melty people, his neck being touched by anything, and Pointy.
Shifter can't feel compassion! He can't care about even his closest friends or Rocky Road. Instead, he bases his trust on how unlikely they are to hurt him.
